CHESTNUT HILL, MA (FRI, NOV 22, 2024) – Through the generosity and commitment of its Board of Directors and a notable partner, Friends of the Heights is thrilled to announce an end-of-year giving campaign: Heights of Giving! The first $500,000 committed to Friends of the Heights by December 15th will be matched dollar-for-dollar. Once fully committed, this campaign could result in at least $1 million of total impact, expanding Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) opportunities available to Boston College student-athletes through the collective while also enhancing the student-athletes’ opportunities facilitated by the collective.
This end-of-year giving campaign is backed in part by the collective’s Board members: Brian Tusa ‘94, Joe Popolo ’89, Sam Raia ’97, Danielle Molinaro ’10, and Scott Mutryn ’98.
“We stand firmly behind our student-athletes as they pursue excellence on behalf of Boston College,” said Tusa. “We want the best for our students and teams, so we urge our alumni and fans to consider supporting this important initiative. We are at a critical juncture in college athletics and continued financial support is vital to remaining competitive in the ACC, especially with the signing period and football transfer portal closing in December.”
Friends of the Heights allows Boston College student-athletes to support local community organizations as they make appearances and promote charitable causes in the ethos of men and women for others. In 2024 alone, Eagle student-athletes across 10 athletic programs partnered with 35 local non-profit organizations, resulting in more than 2,000 community service hours while further promoting charitable causes. In addition, our students can advance their branding through commercial partnerships as they pursue success in the classroom and through their sport.
Donors who participate in Heights of Giving can make a tax-deductible contribution through Friends of the Heights’ partnership with the BPS Foundation, a national 501(c)(3) organization through December 15th. Donors may also contribute via check, stock transfer or wire transfer. To contribute, a donor can visit www.friendsoftheheights.com or email General Manager Tom Devitt ‘93 at tom@friendsoftheheights.com
"I have seen these gifted students perform elite work in the Boston area,” said Devitt. “Not only will alumni and fan involvement continue this impact on our community, but it will also help our teams compete in the best conferences in the country."
